Some of the biggest award-winning pies are now inspired by the flavours of Kuala Lumpur, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, and beyond — with local bakers pushing boundaries and redefining what a pie can be.
And the newest winner if Malaysian spice........ prawn pie here you go........ using our Meat Curry base and chicken.
There are few dishes that say "home" quite like a chicken pot pie. Picture this: a golden, buttery, flaky crust wrapped around a creamy, bubbling filling of tender chicken, sweet peas, carrots, and aromatic herbs. It's the kind of meal that fills your kitchen with the scent of warmth and nostalgia—the one everyone gathers around the table for, especially on chilly evenings.

Chicken Pot Pie recipe
A hearty, flavourful pot pie that comes together quickly in one pan.
Ingredients:
*Butter
*Onion diced
*Garlic diced
*Chicken breast (or substitute with Prawn)
*Potato
*Black pepper
*Salt
*Flour
*Coconut powder my blue tea
*Chicken broth
*Veggies mix
*Puff pastry sheet
If MasterChef Poh's Spiral Curry Puff challenge feels too ambitious, this easy pot pie has you covered. Just grab some store-bought flaky puff pastry and you're halfway there.

In Season 18 of MasterChef Australia (aired in July 2026), Malaysian-born judge Poh Ling Yeow featured her family recipes in a high-stakes Pressure Test. The top five contestants had to recreate three delicate traditional Malaysian snacks from scratch: a intricate spiral curry puff (Karipap Pusing), a multi-layered Kuih Lapis, and a wrapped Kuih Koci. Spiral Curry Puff (Karipap Pusing) : Required an outer and inner dough rolled together to create distinct, flaky visual spirals, filled with spiced meat and sealed with a traditional thumb-pleated crimp.
Chicken Pot Pie recipe
Easy one-skillet filling, topped with crisp puff pastry – the perfect cozy meal in minutes.
Method:
1. Heat butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic.
2. Sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant. Add chicken, potatoes, curry powder, salt, and pepper. Sauté for another 3–4 minutes until chicken is lightly browned.
3. Toss mixture in flour, then add coconut milk and chicken broth. Stir well to combine.
4. Bring to a boil. Add frozen veggies and cook for another 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
5. Add filling to ramekin, then top with a piece of puff pastry. Bake for 15–20 minutes or until pastry is golden brown.
