Kuala Lumpur to Buenos Aires: Satay Empanadas
Who created the little snack that we all love called Curry Puffs or Samosas?
Some say curry puff is influenced by the British Cornish pastry, others say it is derived from the Portugese empanada, and the rest believe it is inspired by the Indian samosa. Either way, don’ t crack your head over it, just love it all. We like to call it Satayadas = Crispy Satay Hand Pies!

Satay Empanadas
Ingredients for Marination:
*50g - @my.blue.tea Satay Marinade Base }
*20ml - Water (adjustable, subject to the wetness of the meat } Ingredients (A)
*90g - Sugar }
*1 Kg - Chicken/Beef/Mutton (cut into pieces) }
Satay Empanadas
Marination Method:
(1) Mix all Ingredients (A) well. Leave to marinade for 3 hours in the fridge.
(2) Ready to grill/barbecue/roast. Grill the marinated meat on a hot pan with little oil until the meat is cooked. Allow to cool and slice into strips.

Ingredients for Wrapping :
*300g - Marinated, cooked satay meat
*6 pcs - 6" Tortilla bread
*200g - Mayonnaise
*50g - Cheddar Cheese
*50g - Mix Green Salad (leaves)
*1 no - Green Capsicum (sliced thinly)
*1 no - Red Capsicum (sliced thinly)
*1 no - Onion (sliced thinly)
*1 no - Tomato (sliced thinly)

Satay Empanadas
Wrapping Method:
(1) Spread mayonnaise on one side of two pieces of tortilla breads.
(2) Place the onion, mix green salad, chicken, tomato, cheddar cheese and capsicum spread them evenly on one piece fo the tortilla.
(2) Place the second piece of tortilla over the first piece, with the mayo side facing the toppings.
(4) Pan-fry each side for 30 sec or till it's a bit brown.
(5) Ready to serve.
